Naracoorte High School

Senior School

The Senior School at Naracoorte High School aims to develop students who are prepared for the future by providing students with a range of traditional subject choices as well as the opportunity to complete their SACE by utilising a range of flexible pathway options.  Students in the Senior School develop skills to be self-motivated, self-directed and lifelong learners.  They are encouraged to take on leadership roles through Student Governing Council as well as through End of Year 12 Celebration Ball Committee, the Senior School Committee and as peer mentors in Home Groups.

Students begin their journey towards SACE completion in Year 10 where they undertake the Personal Learning Plan and Stage 1 Society and Culture. The Research Project is started in Year 11 to support students with managing their course load in Year 12.

Students are supported to complete their SACE by utilising a range of the flexible options in the SACE.  Naracoorte High School provides VET opportunities within the school, TAFE courses, The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, School Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships and the Naracoorte High School Independent Learning Centre. Year 11 and 12 students have access to the support of dedicated senior school teachers through after school sessions, lunch time support programs as well as holiday sessions.
