Naracoorte High School

Adelaide Athletics

Athletics is done and dusted for another year following our annual Adelaide Athletics

Congratulations to all Naracoorte High School students who represented our school with great effort and sportsmanship at the Adelaide Athletics Carnival held on 31st March at the SA Athletics Stadium.

After arriving in Adelaide on Monday Afternoon, students visited the South Australian Sports Institute, where they toured facilities used by elite athletes. Guided by Volleyroo players Oliver Merrit and Solly Bushby, students explored training areas and even tried some high-intensity equipment. It was a great opportunity to see how top athletes train and recover.

The next day the students competed in the Athletics Carnival where they came 6th Overall in B2. In the 4x100m relay, our 13 Girls team placed 3rd, while our 14 Girls team showed great determination to take out 1st place.

A special mention goes to Tyler Sherrin, who showed outstanding sportsmanship during the relay event. In the final leg, Tyler noticed another student stop due to injury and chose to assist him rather than continue the race, demonstrating a fantastic ability to prioritise helping others over winning. His actions were recognised with an honourable mention over the loudspeaker and a well-deserved round of applause. Well done, Tyler!

Naracoorte High School students had a fantastic day, demonstrating great sportsmanship, dedication, and pride in representing their school. Thank you to the students who stepped in at the last minute to fill events and support their team.

Thank you to all competitors, staff, and supporters for your effort and enthusiasm, you have made us all very proud!
