Throughout Term 1, two Year 12 students competed in the Lion’s Youth of the Year competition.

Ben and Jack completed an application and interview with three judges, then presented a five minute prepared speech on a topic of their choice, and two impromptu speeches during an evening Lion’s meeting. Both boys presented with confidence demonstrating their public speaking skills and general knowledge.

Congratulations to Jack who won the event, moving onto the next round. Weeks later he competed in Kingston against four other students from our district, again sitting an interview and presenting three speeches.

Jack was again successful, moving him into Round 3 at Yankalilla. Unfortunately Jack did not progress beyond the third round, however we are incredibly proud of his efforts and dedication to the competition.
