NHS progress to Round 3 of the 7/8 Statewide Football competition

In Week 2, Naracoorte High School competed in the first round of the Year 7/8 Statewide Knockout Carnival at NFC. Game 1 was a very tightly contested match, going down to the wire. NHS 2.6.18 def Bordertown 2.4.16 Best Players Paddy Meuller, Xavier Koch, Eddie Heffernan, Nate Marshall, Nith Warnakula and Harry Ramsden. Goals: Henry Fry and Digby Wight.

Match 2 was a much more open contest with Naracoorte dominating from start to finish. NHS 5.6.30 def Millicent 1.2.8. Best players: Paddy Meuller, Henry Fry, Harry Ransden, Xavier Koch, Gus Sambell, Cody Crocker and Jack Sellars. Goals: Gus Sambell 3, Cooper Mott 2, Henry Fry 1.

This saw us progress to Round 2 vs Grant High School in Week 4. We jumped out of the blocks early with some dominant play, heading into the first break with a 4 goal lead. Controlling the second quarter, NHS sat on a comfortable lead winning 11.4.70 to 6.5.41.

Eddie Heffernan dominated across half forward kicking some important long running goals. Other best players included Gus Sambell, Will Maney, Henry Fry, Angus Norcock, Paddy Meuller and Nith Warnakula. We now look forward to seeing who our Round 3 opponant will be.
