Naracoorte High has started off
Term 2 with a bang!
The Functional Literacy and Numeracy Class held a fundraiser to support The Australian Marine Conservation Society, as well as The Dylan Alcott Foundation.
These charities strive to increase the health of our oceans and improving the confidence of young Australians living with disabilities respectively, two very deserving causes.
Within week one, we also celebrated the beginning of recognising rights and responsibilities in action allowing students to be acknowledged for respectful and engaged behaviour.
As School Captains, we attended a meeting with multiple other South East Schools in hope to improve our leadership structure, and increase student involvement.
The Page turners Book Club is up and running with the lovely Mrs. Borg returning from her leave in Term 1.
As the term continues, we farewell one of our School Captains, Alberta, as she is moving away from the South East. Although this is a sudden and sad change, we will continue with to implement ideas, and uphold the school’s values.
Lastly, to recognise our hardworking Year 12’s outstanding efforts, we will celebrate their halfway day with the Big Freeze. In Week 6 this term, we will be dunking 2 nominated students from each year level, a House Captain, a School Captain, and six staff members in an ice bath to support the MND foundation, raising money for the aid organisation.Students are encouraged to wear their MND beanies during the event.
We hope Term 2 will continue to be fun and engaging for all students, improving our school along the way.
