Amber cashes in on the Australian Securities Exchange School Sharemarket Game!
This term we have been competing in the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) School Sharemarket Game.
Students received a virtual $50,000 that they could invest over a 10 week period, in over 300 companies listed in the ASX. The prices students bought and sold were the same prices as they would get in the live market, making the game mirror real life share trading.
Throughout the 10 week period, students;
– Developed their knowledge of the sharemarket,
– learnt how to research companies,
– discovered the importance of wise investment decisions,
– gained a greater knowledge of economic and world events, and
– began to learn more about investing which will be beneficial for their futures.
Congratulations to Amber Schultz (Year 7) won the state prize pocketing a $500 cash reward from the ASX for her efforts. Amber grew her portfolio from $50,000 to $68,800.
Our school was successful placing 6 students in the top 100 out of 18000 participants.
We look forward to participating again in 2025.
