The Minister for Education, Training and Skills the Hon Blair Boyer tours Naracoorte High.
On Thursday 26th of October, we were delighted to welcome the Minister for Education, Training and Skills, the Hon Blair Boyer MP to Naracoorte High School.
Mr Boyer combined his visit to Naracoorte for the Country Cabinet Meeting, with the opportunity to visit a number of schools within our region. Mr Boyer spent his time at Naracoorte High visiting different areas of our school and engaging with our students about their learning.
Senior school students, Eliza Bull, Ryan O’Shaughnessy and Bradley Ludwig took Mr Boyer on a school tour showcasing our Agriculture Department. Here they shared of our Steer Teams’ recent success at the Royal Adelaide and Melbourne shows, as well as the new fence build that was recently completed by our students along the front of the Ag block.
Bradley also shared an insight into his school based apprenticeship where he is currently studying Certificate 3 in Rural Operations.
Eliza, Ryan and Bradley shared our five year plan for the Ag Bock, in which Mr Boyer was extremely impressed with the plans for the future.
Mr Boyer went on to visit Mr Rechner’s Year 9 Design and Tech students where they showcased their CO2 Dragsters they have been working on.
Finally, Mr Boyer called in to visit the FIP students on their final day of their course. The students really enjoyed showing Minister Boyer their skills and demonstrating their knowledge in the industry, and took great delight in teaching him how to cut tiles!
Thank you to Minister Boyer for taking the time to visit Naracoorte High School and chat with our students about Ag, Tech and everything inbetween. A visit thoroughly enjoyed by all!
