The Steer Team participated in their final outing at the Mount Gambier Show during the first week of Term 4.

The students participated in holiday and after school sessions to get the steers ready. 3 steers were prepared for the show, and the team came home with several ribbons for their efforts. These included; 2nd and 3rd Best Presented Steers with Slim Shady and Silver Surfer, and a 3rd in the Heavy Domestic Weight Class on Hoof. The students performed really well in the handlers classes with several students going through to the final round, with a 3rd in the Experience Class going to Matilda Rothe. On hoof, Slim Shady received a 4th overall from 24 steers.

These programs don’t happen without the generosity and donations from local farmers. Special mention to Bottlesford Murray Greys, Bull Oak Well Angus and Days Whiteface for the 3 steers.
