After winning a tough Southeast Schools competition, the year 7/8 boys basketball team progressed to the State Finals in Adelaide on Tuesday 28th June.
The boys played in the minor rounds and had some extremely close games against Bordertown, Millicent, and Keith. A great group of young men who played excellent
team basketball, supporting each other throughout the day which ultimately got us through to the State Finals.
Unfortunately, head coach Tammy Schinckel was unable to attend, a big thank you to Jarrod Sears for stepping into her place. The team left Monday straight after
school, looking forward to some team bonding, dinner on the way and overnight stay, ready for the next day’s state competition. Disappointingly, a school had dropped out of the draw resulting in the boys playing only 12 minute games in a 7 team competition. With such amazing talent in the Naracoorte High team, they finished a convincing 1st place with no other school even getting close. Well done on becoming the State Champions, a great experience, a great bunch, and a great achievement. Look forward to next year when we advance to the next division.
