Last week, on Tuesday the 16th of March our Year 12 Creative Arts Students, led by Art teacher Kari Thomas and supported by Bron Longbotton, headed off to Adelaide to attend the Kickstart Workshop run by the Art Gallery of South Australia. We arrived in Adelaide with time to look at the public art on display throughout the city as a part of the 2021 Fringe Festival. After we captured our ‘selfies’ with the public art we all ventured to the Garden of Unearthly Delight to have dinner. The students were amazed at the transformation of the parklands into the amazing GoUD with all the unique stalls, shows, and people.
The following day we left our accommodation to arrive at the Art Gallery of South Australia. We were met by two of the Educational Officers, Kylie Neagle and Tom Readett, who discussed the learning outcomes of Year 12 Creative Arts. The students were guided through the Art Gallery and were given insights into completing an assessment for the Creative Arts Course. This opportunity gave our students the skills and knowledge to understand art works and will be incredibly valuable towards their Art Studies.
